Education in Ukraine

Higher education in Ukraine is based on general secondary education. Admission to universities is carried out with a certificate of secondary education.

Ukrainian universities have very strong academic staff. The number of students per professor is higher than in most European countries. Ukrainian universities are recognized by the Council of Europe and the Ministry of Education in accordance with the Lisbon Treaty. According to this agreement, students have the opportunity to transfer to other European countries.

The bachelor's degree in Ukraine is 4 years (3 years and 10 months), magistracy - 2 academic years (1 year and 10 months). The training takes place in three languages: English, Ukrainian and Russian. Universities are quite popular in the world. An example is the Kiev and Kharkov universities. In Ukraine, most of the education fees are paid by the state, so the cost of training ranges from 2000 to 4000 dollars. Ukrainian universities offer students an inexpensive hostel. Most of the cost of living in a hostel does not exceed 500 US dollars. Students are paid monthly expenses of $ 350-400 for food, transportation, and pocket money. The rules for admission to Ukrainian universities are easier compared to other European countries.

Foreign students who want to study in Ukraine in Russian, for a whole year, take Russian language courses. Training lasts from September 1 to June 31. International students, as well as citizens of Ukraine, must follow the same rules and recommendations for higher education in Ukraine.

Unlike many other European countries, higher education in Ukraine is relatively efficient and affordable. For those who do not have the opportunity to study in full-time education, the opportunity is given and the form is in absentia.

In Ukraine, higher education institutions include: a technical school (college), a college, an institute, a conservatory, an academy, a university, and so on.

There are four levels of accreditation for higher education institutions:

The first level - technical school, school, other educational institutions;

The second level is the college and other higher schools that have been equated to them;

The third and fourth levels are the institute, conservatory, academy, university.

Since 2006, the knowledge of students of Ukrainian higher educational institutions is estimated at 0-100 points. These estimates can be converted into 4-point tables in the following order:

From 90 to 100 "excellent"

From 70 to 89 - "good"

60 to 69 - "satisfactory"

0 to 59 - "unsatisfactory"
